Created to be a home away from him, this pied-a-terre became the perfect retreat with a great mix of functionality and style.

Wabi-Sabi of the Upper West

The Japanese aesthetic concept of "Wabi-Sabi" appreciates the beauty of imperfection and the aging process. It involves taking something damaged or worn and finding beauty and value in its unique characteristics and history. I couldn't think of a better way to describe this extensive prewar project. We received a call to do some finishsork and level-5 skimcoating on a home that our client just bought. Shortly after signing the agreement, it came to light that the existing GC was skipping corners, violating building codes and had ultimately walked off the job; leaving the home in shambles. Long story short, we stepped in as the GC and turned it into a restored masterpiece. All of this was done with  improper drawing, incomplete permits or incorrect materials. What was the result? Obviously Perfection.

The Jefferson’s Lake House

Warm Woods On The Upper East

This space started in estate condition gut and became our client relaxation retirement dream. Using more of a tradition path with calm nuetral tons, the space was elevated to our clients dream, cozy co-op.

The Jefferson’s Lake House

Feeling The Blues

This gut renovated one bedroom was knocked down to the slab and rebuilt with functionality, storage and design at the forefront. The original enclosed kitchen was opened up to allow for an open concept eating and living space while making it perfect for entertaining.  The ceiling was dropped to accommodate recessed lighting and high a beam that was running accross the units ceiling.
